The Most And Least Expensive Items Sold At The Hollywood Legends Auction

People LOVE Hollywood memorabilia. Do you all remember how much money was spent on the contents of Elizabeth Taylor's estate? Sure jewelry goes for quite a bit, but nonetheless, people will spend thousands and millions of dollars on the strangest crap all in the name of their favorite movie or star.

But at the Hollywood Legends Auction this past weekend, the highest sold item was a phaser rifle used by Captain Kirk (aka Shatner, of course) in the re-tooled Star Trek pilot. After reading this great Entertainment Weekly story about the phaser rifle, all I could think about was what other items on this illustrious list were sold at crazy prices? So from my nerdy desires to your eyes: here are the most and least expensive items sold at the Hollywood Legends Auction

The Five Most Expensive Items:

1. "Star Trek" Phaser Rifle

Estimated Price: $50,000
Price Sold: $231,000

2. "I Dream of Jeannie" Bottle

Estimate Price: $60,000-$80,000
Price Sold: $41,600

Star Trek nerds beat Jeannie nerds by $189,400. The bottle didn't even reach it's estimated price. So... William Shatner > Larry Hagman? Or is it just Gun > Bottle?

3. Marilyn Monroe Bra from "Some Like It Hot" Gown

Estimated Price: $8,000- $10,000
Price Sold: $28,800

It's a bra. A. Bra. That's just creepy.

4. Superman IV Christopher Reeve Flying Suit:

Estimated Price: $20,000- $30,000
Price Sold: $25,600

This is pretty cool until you find out it's the suit from Superman IV. Not I, not II, not even the not-so-great, but at least it has Richard Pryor III. This is the fourth one. With this guy as the villain:

But, it's still Christopher Reeve and it's still Superman.

5. Marilyn Monroe Cocktail Dress

Estimated Price: $5,000- $7,000
Price Sold: $25,000

Sold for FIVE times the asking price. It's not even kind of a surprise.

Expensive Item Honorable Mentions:

In 7th Place: Bruce Lee "Enter The Dragon" Claw Weapon

Estimated Price: $10,000 to $12,000
Price Sold: $20,480

This. Is. Awesome. If I had disposable income, I would absolutely buy this thing. And if it were possible, I'd buy everything else from this movie because it's incredible.

In 12th Place: "Wizard of Oz" Munchkin Flower Pot Hat

Estimated Price: $8,000- $10,000
Price Sold: $15,000

I mean, I get it. It's "Wizard of Oz" memorabilia. But still. It's made of felt. Am I the only one who sees this?

Now for the sad stuff...

The Least Expensive Items:

1. MGM Ephemera:

Estimated Price: $75-$150
Price Sold: $32

Well... no wonder they went bankrupt. Who wants buying a windbreaker for $150 just because of a logo? And if you squint, it looks like there might be a stain on the jacket. The MGM guys can't even pay for dry-cleaning.

2. Brittany Murphy "Just Married" Script

Estimated Price: $300- $500
Price Sold: $32

Talk about trying to profit off someone's passing. Who honestly thought that a couple of scripts in binders for a movie that was pretty stupid was actually going to make over $100? That person is stupid.

3. "Law & Order" Linus Roache Evidence Props

Estimated Price: $150- $300
Price Sold: $32

Sad. But then again, I think $30 is way too much for a rock with a piece of metal through it. That table lamp is pretty handy though.

4. Stargate Collection of Production Materials

Estimated Price: $400- $600
Price Sold: $64

It's a bunch of pictures. $64 is wayyy too high for something I can print off my computer from the internet.

5. Nolan Miller Original Couture Wedding Gown

Estimated Price: $600- $800
Price Sold: $64

Ok this one is outrageous. A VINTAGE COUTURE wedding gown from the man who did the wardrobe for "Dynasty" AND "Charlie's Angels" that sold for less than $100? Crazy town.

Even more depressing...

Items That Weren't Even Sold

1. Tom Hanks "Castaway" Ice Skate, Tooth Necklace

Estimated Price: $2,000- $3,000

You know that iconic scene from that movie. Because this item isn't creepy at all... (P.S. It is)

2. "Black Beauty" from "The Green Hornet"

Estimated Price: $40,000- $60,000

Considering how cool this car is, this is kind of a surprise. Considering how bad the movie was, this is not really a surprise.

3. Evil Knievel Signed Suit

Estimated Price: $5,000- $7,000

Seriously?! A BRA from Marilyn gets sold but not an entire signed suit from the death-defying master of stunts himself? That is depressing.

Vote On The Scariest “Doctor Who” Villains From The 2005 Reboot & On

Doctor Who is back! With new companion Clara Oswald in tow, the 11th Doctor is off finding more adventures and saving the Earth from some crazy-looking baddies. While most of the time, these villains look ridiculous, sometimes they can be scary enough to cause some nightmares.  Check out my top ten and vote on your favorite- or least favorite if you don't like scary things.

Note: I've only counted the villains seen from the 2005 reboot and on (though the Daleks are as old as  the show itself).

1. The Daleks with Davros

First seen: "Dalek" Series 1, Episode 6

So here's the thing. I know they're not much to look at but the Daleks are THE main villains in "Doctor Who." They do really horrible things. They hate humans, they hate the Doctor, they basically hate anyone who isn't them. And when they open their giant metallic boxes, they're actually really gross to look at- like squid tentacles attached to a giant brain.

2. The Weeping Angels

First seen: "Blink" Series 3, Episode 10

Sure, they're just statues. But once you turn away or even blink (thus the title of the episode), they can come speeding at you and zap you into the past where you will "live to death" as the Doctor says. Plus, if you look at them even on a recorded video, they can still attack you. Imagine that these things are every statue you've ever seen and try not to be scared while walking into a public library or some other old building. I dare you.

3. Snowmen

First seen: "The Snowmen" Series 7, Episode 6 (Christmas Special)

I know, they're just snow. But snowmen are things made my little children on winter holidays. It's cruel to turn them into evil monsters with sharp ice teeth. I'll never look at snow the same way again.

4. The Silence

First seen: "The Impossible Astronaut" Series 6, Episode 1

Um... Look at them. They're frightening. And they wear suits so you know they mean business. Worst part: when you look away, you forget they were even there so every time you see them, it's a new experience of terror.

5. Racnoss

First seen: "The Runaway Bride" Series 3, Episode 1 (Special Episode)

While this monster didn't really do much damage to the world in its "Doctor Who" episode, it's just disgusting. It also has the body of a spider and spiders are the worst. Just the worst.

6. The Beast

First seen: "The Satan Pit" Series 2, Episode 9

A fitting name for a giant monster inside a large pit, don't you think? You see that orange jumpsuit in the left-hand bottom corner? That's the Doctor. So that gives you an idea of how big this thing really is. It's basically the Devil (thus the title of the episode- "Doctor Who" is good about being literal with its baddies most of the time).

7. Prisoner Zero

First seen: "The Eleventh Hour" Series 5, Episode 1

The first monster faced by the Eleventh Doctor. It's a giant snake thing with really long sharp teeth. Is it just me or are snakes truly frightening? Now just imagine a snake but longer by several feet (or meters for you non-American folk).

8. Clockwork Men

First seen: "The Girl in the Fireplace" Series 2, Episode 4

Porcelain masks are scary. It's just a well-known fact. Imagine this thing chasing you around silently.

9. The Vashta Nerada

First seen: "The Silence in the Library" Series 4, Episode 8

For those of you who haven't seen this episode, the monster is not a skeleton in an astronaut suit. It's actually millions of little particles in the darkness. So if you cross into the darkness, they can eat you to the bone. Thus the poor soul in this picture. Basically this episode gives you another reason to be afraid of the dark.

10. The Dolls

First seen: "Night Terrors" Series 6, Episode 9

Please refer to my reasoning on number 8 but change porcelain masks to creepy, giant dolls. Let me make myself more clear: these are creepy, giant dolls that will turn you into more creepy giant dolls if you're caught. What's worse than being chased by creepy, giant dolls? Probably being a creepy, giant doll.

Now it's your turn, who's the scariest of them all?

2012 Oscar Nominees in Most Likely Bad 2013 Movies

Next stop, Razzies? You decide.

Best Actor

Bradley Cooper- You knew a third Hangover was coming...

Denzel Washington- 2 Guns. Another Denzel taking-down-the-bad-guys-with-lots-of-guns movie that probably includes some sort of emotional core that has no a pay out. Also starring Mark Wahlberg so that's pretty hit or miss.

Hugh Jackman- It already happened with Movie 43. He. Had. Testicles. On. His. Chin.

Best Actress
Sorry people, I refuse to put The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on this list out of sheer blind hope that my favorite book out of the series won't be ruined.

Jessica Chastain- Mama was not bad... but it really wasn't great.

Naomi Watts- Another Movie 43 victim. She makes out with her son in an effort to make his homeschooling experience more like real high school.
Two Mothers- who knows if this Motherlover: The Movie will be great or terrible. Even Kyle Buchanan from Vulture couldn't decide when the film premiered at Sundance.

Best Supporting Actor

Alan Arkin- As much as I hate to say anything bad about Steve Buscemi, Alan Arkin and Steve Carell, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone really doesn't look great.

Robert De Niro- The Big Wedding. Any "Comedy" movie that includes Katherine Heigl is automatically a candidate for worst picture. We'll see if this is a turning point now that she is surrounding herself with people like De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton. But Robin Williams is also in it so...

Best Supporting Actress

Jacki Weaver- Weaver will be going to TV this fall in CBS' The McCarthy's but she's also co-starring in a horror movie called Haunt. Synopsis: An introverted teen sparks with his new neighbor, and together the couple begins to explore the haunted house that is family has unknowingly just purchased.

Note to all Oscar nominees: most of the time the comedy and horror movies you star in after your Oscar-nominated film will be bad choices (House At The End Of The Street, Bride Wars, No Strings Attached, etc.). We know you need a break after the intensity of the good movie's shoot, but still. You've been warned.

So there you have it. Let's hope some of these movies are better than they appear. But most of these guys have great movies coming out this year too. Silver Linings!

A Fond Farewell: The Best Fake Stuff "30 Rock" Ever Created For Us All

This is how I feel about 30 Rock ending. Blerg on you Tina Fey.

Tonight, we say goodbye to one of the funniest shows on TV. If only there was a perfect Joni Mitchell song to commemorate this event. While I shall drown my sorrows tonight in night cheese and a Nancy Drew (it's a Hardy Boy for men, natch), check out some of the greatest creations Liz Lemon and the gang have ever given us, from bar mitzvahs for werewolves to Meat Cat.

Fake Songs:

Muffin Top- Jenna Maroney's best song ever. She just wants to dance people.

Werewolf Bar Mitzvah- Tracy's big hit that helped him receive the key to the city of Gary, Indiana

Jenna, "unwindulaxing"

Catching Crabs in Paradise- Jenna's hit that becomes the theme song for the followers of "Unwindulax"- people in Florida whose election votes can't be predicted.

Balls- A song Jenna made over a summer hiatus... and yes, it just repeats "balls" over and over again.

Night Cheese- Liz Lemon eats cheese at night. It's pretty self-explanatory but it's also completely perfect.

I'm A Star- Sure it's not a full song but who cares? It'll be your anthem after you hear it.

Fake Companies/Events:

Bottoms-Up Day- The day where GE senior level officials do the work of the lowest paid/ranked GE employee for one whole day. It's a real nightmare

Ludachristmas- The TGS Christmas Party. It can get crazy. As Tracy would say, he "likes it so much, he wants to take behind a middle school and get it pregnant."

Classic Liz, choosing food over a man. This is so not a romantic comedy.

Sandwich Day- "You don't know Sandwich Day? Why it's the best day of the year!" Once a year, the TGS teamsters bring everyone sandwiches from a secret location. But make sure you don't take Liz's sandwich because she'll "cut you up so bad you'll have a chin."

Anna Howard Shaw Day- Otherwise known as Anti-Valentine's Day for bitter, old, single women.

Kidney Now- Jack's basically fake charity concert to raise money for his real father's kidney. Adam Levine, Mary J. Blige & Elvis Costello (aka international art thief Declan McManus) are all blackmailed into participating.

Kabletown- The new owner of NBC. (DEFINITELY not Comcast)

Merkins for Hope- The charity Jenna decides to give her chopped off hair to (because Locks for Love won't accept her way too damaged tousles)

Operation Righteous Cowboy Lightning- Jack's idea of pre-taping a charity benefit show. Sounds like a good idea right? Not so much because the next disaster happens on the island of Mago which is owned by Mel Gibson. But because it's Jack, somehow the idea still works unlike....

Fireworks- Jack's idea to set off a giant fireworks show in the middle of Rockefeller Plaza. It was not a success.

Fake Shows/Movies/Games:

Bitch Hunter- NBC's very popular show starring Will Ferrell as Shane Hunter, a man who hunts women with a gun. Because of controversy and complaints from all those feminists, NBC had to create....

"Who Farted?" One of the many "classy" sketches on TGS

The Girlie Show- What Liz Lemon's show was called BEFORE Tracy Jordan came aboard. It's much better now.

Black Fraiser- The show Toofer used to write for at BET before getting the Girlie Show gig. Just as Fraiser-y and nothing black about it.

Dealbreakers Talk Show- Liz Lemon's talk show that was never even able to film its first episode because Lemon went "Jenna" on everyone (watch the whole episode, it's amazing).

Rural Juror & Urban Fervor- The first is an indie film (with a difficult to pronounce name) starring Jenna and the second is the sequel written by Kevin Grisham (brother of John Grisham... so you know it's good?).

Jackie Jormp Jomp- Jack's Janis Joplin inspired biopic that could not obtain rights to any of Joplin's songs and thus had to sing versions of each hit with the words changed (for example: Chunk of my Lung over Piece of my Heart). Starring Jenna Maroney as Jackie Jormp Jomp.

Los Amantes Clandestinos- The show featuring the Generalissimo, a villain who looks exactly like Jack. Jack's ex-girlfriend Elisa had a grandmother who did not approve of Jack because of this resemblance.

See? Super creepy.

Milf Island- NBC's most famous reality show... exactly as it sounds... and just as creepy.

Some of the best Tracy Jordan movies: Fat Bitch, Honky Grandma Be Trippin', A Blaffair To Rememblack, Who Dat Ninja, Black Cop/White Cop, Jefferson (Which Tracy wrote, produced, stars in and directed), Hard To Watch: Based on the Book "Stone Cold Bummer" By Manipulate (For which Tracy won an Oscar surprisingly enough), The Chunks 2: A Very Chunky Christmas

Child Hell Fight- a show that will "inoventually"happen

Queen of Jordan- an awesome reality show starring Tracy Jordan's wife, Angie with the best cast ever.

Fake Food/Food-Related Items:

One of Liz's many many crazy dreams.

Cheesy Blasters (and Meat Cat, the face of CheesyB)

Adultaraisin- Tracy Jordan's Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor.

Funcooker- a portable microwave that unfortunately shares its name with Tracy's butt.

Sabor de Soledad- a cheeto-like chip that causes you to think you're having a baby. (definitely glad these aren't real)

The only words that can truly describe my annoyance for no more "30 Rock" were coined by Liz herself: "BLERG!" & "NERDS!" We'll miss you TGS Cast and Crew (and Jack). You're pretty awes. Everyone should watch the SERIES finale of "30 Rock tonight at 8 p.m. As Tina Fey said herself: TAPE THE BIG BANG THEORY FOR ONCE PEOPLE.

Updated: Oscar Predictions Assessment- AKA What I Got Wrong

Well as per usual, the Oscar nominations were as most reporters call a "mixed bag." I call it a clusterf*** of emotions. Some nods were obvious (as in Lincoln getting nominated for literally everything) and some were completely infuriating (let's get to that). Excuse any written outburst you see, it's all still a bit tender.

Best Picture:
1. Zero Dark Thirty
2.  Lincoln
3. Les Misérables
4. Argo
5. Beasts of the Southern Wild
6. Silver Linings Playbook
7. Life of Pi
8. Django Unchained
9. Moonrise Kingdom
10. Amour

The Academy went with 9 again this year which is no real surprise. And the list is pretty much the most predictable list ever created. Some pundits thought Skyfall might make it at the last second but as much as I enjoyed that film, there was no way a Bond movie/big budget flick like that would register with the Academy. Have we all forgotten the tough snub for The Dark Knight? And that was a much better film.

Best Director:
1. Kathryn Bigelow: Zero Dark Thirty David O. Russell: Silver Linings Playbook
2. Steven Spielberg: Lincoln
3. Ben Affleck: Argo Michael Haneke- Amour
4. Tom Hooper: Les Miserables Ben Zeitlin- Beasts of the Southern Wild
5. Ang Lee: Life of Pi

WOW. I don't know where to start. Oh wait, yes I do. HUGE snubs for Kathryn Bigelow and Ben Affleck. I know, I know, Bigelow has won it before. Fine. But what does Affleck have to do to get a Director nod? I call conspiracy here!

On a positive note: Glad to see David O. Russell score a nom for Silver Linings Playbook. Great director, great movie.

Best Actor:
1. Daniel Day-Lewis: Lincoln
2. Bradley Cooper: Silver Linings Playbook
3. Joaquin Phoenix: The Master
4. Hugh Jackman: Les Miserables
5. Denzel Washington: Flight

5 for 5! Awesome but take too much credit. This one was obvious. Even the Joaquin Phoenix "surprise".

Best Actress:
1. Jessica Chastain: Zero Dark Thirty
2. Jennifer Lawrence: Silver Linings Playbook
3. Emmanuelle Riva: Amour
4. Rachel Weisz: The Deep Blue Sea Quvenzhane Wallis- Beasts of the Southern Wild
5. Naomi Watts: The Impossible

I'm actually glad to be wrong in snubbing Wallis on my list. That little girl was incredible in Beasts of the Souther Wild. I feel like a complete failure. What did I achieve at 9 years old? I could read at a 12-year-old level. That's about it.

Best Supporting Actor:
1. Alan Arkin: Argo
2. Robert De Niro: Silver Linings Playbook
3. Phillip Seymour Hoffman: The Master
4. Tommy Lee Jones: Lincoln
5. Christoph Waltz: Django Unchained

Another 5 of 5 for another fairly obvious field.

Best Supporting Actress:
1. Anne Hathaway: Les Miserables
2. Amy Adams: The Master
3. Sally Field: Lincoln
4. Helen Hunt: The Sessions
5. Ann Dowd: Compliance Jacki Weaver- Silver Linings Playbook

I'm trading in one surprise nomination for another. Glad to see such a great cast all get nods here. That's not only a testament to them but to David O. Russell for writing a great script and directing his cast to glory.

Best Original Screenplay:
1. Mark Boal: Zero Dark Thirty
2. Paul Thomas Anderson: The Master Michael Haneke: Amour
3. Wes Anderson & Roman Coppola: Moonrise Kingdom
4. Quentin Tarantino: Django Unchained
5. Rian Johnson: Looper John Gatins: Flight

Michael Haneke's nomination is no real surprise but I was really hoping the Academy would take a leap and give some recognition to the brilliant Looper script by Johnson. It was definitely one of the most inventive movies of the year and it gets nothing. This is a real disappointment.

Best Adapted Screenplay:
1. Chris Terrio: Argo
2. Tony Kushner: Lincoln
3. Stephen Chbosky: Perks of Being a Wallflower David Magee: Life of Pi
4. David O. Russell: Silver Linings Playbook
5. Lucy Alibar & Ben Zeitlin: Beasts of the Southern Wild

Another obvious alternative here. Chbosky was a bit of an uncertainty since the movie wasn't a huge success. Magee did a commendable job adapting subject matter that could be really tough for the screen.

Best Animated Feature:
1. Wreck-It Ralph
2. Brave
3. Paranorman
4. Frankenweenie
*ADDITION* 5. Pirates! Band of Misfits

Wasn't sure if the Academy would go for a full 5 here. But glad they went with the absurd yet adorable Pirates! over Rise of the Guardians.

Best Original Score:
1. Dan Romer & Ben Zeitlin: Beasts of the Southern Wild
2. Johnny Greenwood: The Master Thomas Newman: Skyfall
3. Mychael Danna: Life of Pi
4. John Williams: Lincoln
5. Alexandre Desplat: Argo

Wow. The Academy either really doesn't like Paul Thomas Anderson movies or just really hates Radiohead. Poor Johnny Greenwood. I personally love his movie scores.

The Oscars will air on February 24th. And if the Oscar nominations were any prediction for the actual event, Seth MacFarlane will do just fine. As long as he brings some of his irreverent Family Guy humor (with a little extra class), that'll go Pig. That'll do.

Anyone else have any big beefs with the Academy? Do you agree that the Academy would nominate Steven Spielberg for awards even if he remade Pootie Tang? Are you one of the weirdos who's upset that Matthew McConaughy didn't get nominated for basically just taking off his shirt (as per usual) and terribly singing a song in Magic Mike? Seriously was that a serious bid for a nomination? Anyway, explain in the comments section!! Can't wait to be more annoyed by the eventual winners with all of you!

The 1st Annual Stage and Screen Awards

The first day of 2013 is upon and with it brings nostalgia for the year that was. 2012 had several high and low points (as most years do) in the entertainment world and I'm here to remind you of a little taste of what we experienced the year the world was supposed to end (the Mayans may have been wrong but Kim Kardashian is having a baby so the world ending is still a possibility).

For your entertainment: The first ever Stage and Screen Awards chosen by yours truly:

1. Best Films of the Year
  • Zero Dark Thirty: Say what you will about the controversial catching Osama Bin Laden movie, there's no denying it was done well. And Jessica Chastain kicked the crap out of everyone, acting wise.
  • Lincoln: Sure there were parts of this sweeping biopic that were a little slow in the pacing but the beautifully written script and the bravura performances from Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, David Stratharin and more easily made up for the way too quiet moments.
  • Silver Linings Playbook: Sweet, quirky, hilarious films will always make my list for best movies. This David O. Russell creation featuring a phenomenal performance from Jennifer Lawrence and a wonderful one from Bradley Cooper was frankly a big surprise for me. Whoever thought that dancing and two people with insane psychological problems could make for great screen material?
  • Take This Waltz: A poignant film that speaks volumes, this gem starring the always brilliant Michelle Williams and the serious film debuts of Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman was largely unnoticed which is a real shame. The movie features one of the most real marriages and explains the painful realization of not being able to find the satisfaction in life. If there was any justice in the film community, Michelle Williams would be nominated for another Oscar for this film.
  • Moonrise Kingdom: Wes Anderson's most recent film might be his best. This adorable film about young love is just so precious and strange and yet somehow still kind of realistic even in the most unrealistic situations.
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild: Brilliant, uplifting film with such a fantastic performance by Quvenzhane Wallis at its heart. This movie will change you. No wonder it was such a film festival favorite.
2. Worst Film of the Year
  • A Thousand Words: Eddie Murphy hasn't made any real gems lately and taking away his voice for this mess was the worst idea ever.
  • That's My Boy: Adam Sandler: Leave Andy Samberg alone. Don't incorporate awesome, hilarious younger stars into your ridiculously horrible films.
  • One For The Money: Is being a really terrible Bounty Hunter Katherine Heigl's idea of female empowerment? If so, she needs some serious psych evaluation.

3. Best Female Performance (Film)
  • Who else? Jessica Chastain for Zero Dark Thirty. That woman needs an Oscar immediately

4. Best Male Performance (Film)
  • As much as I loved Joaquin Phoenix in Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, I have to give the slight edge to Daniel Day-Lewis' eerily spot-on performance of Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln.

5. Best Breakthrough (Male or Female)
  • Tie: Jason Clarke in Zero Dark Thirty & Dane DeHaan in Chronicle, Lawless
    • Both men were equally brilliant in their films. Jason Clarke made waves for me in the short-lived but really wonderful series The Chicago Code so it's a real delight to see him in the forefront of this powerful film.

6. Best Movie No One Saw
  • Take This Waltz: Seriously, go see it on Netflix right now
  • Cabin in the Woods: Hilarious meta horror flick that is so completely strange it's got to be great. Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard web and funny, scary, at times gory and campy tale about friends who have a "cliche" camping trip in the woods that goes horrible awry. And kudos to Whedon for using "Dollhouse" fan fave Fran Kranz in the film as Stoner Marty. He's absolutely brilliant.

8. Best Movie Trailer

9. Best Movie Poster

10. Movie Whose Trailer Was Better Than The Final Product
  • Total Recall: The trailer? Absolutely mind-bogglingly cool. The movie? A way too serious mess.

11. Biggest Letdown Films
  • John Carter
  • Total Recall
  • The Dark Knight Rises
  • Brave

12. Best TV Series (Drama and Comedy)
  • Drama:
    • Breaking Bad: This show continues to surprise and up its game. I'm sad that next season will be the last but at least they'll be ending it on a high note in quality
    • Game of Thrones: Blackwater!! Enough said
    • Sherlock; No offense Downton Abbey, but Sherlock is the best British drama on TV now
    • Dexter: The best comeback ever. Period.
    • Parenthood: The Adam/Kristina storyline this season has been heartbreaking and worth watching from start to finish. No other drama on TV right now can create such a realistic atmosphere just like its predecessor, Jason Katim & Peter Berg's Friday Night Lights
  • Comedy:
    • Parks and Recreation: Consistently one of the funniest shows on TV without fail. Every episode is hilarious and filled with the sweetest moments. Amy Poehler was robbed of an Emmy this season
    • Girls: Lena Dunham's comedy is polarizing obviously, but I'm completely on the positive side. The show is challenging strange and definitely does not represent every voice of our generation. But it does so eloquently describe many of the trials we young people face while trying to make a difference. And that crack episode is gold.
    • Louie: In my opinion, Louis CK is a national treasure.
    • New Girl: It continues to improve week to week and every character is now my favorite. That's saying something.

15. Best New Series (Drama and Comedy)
  • Drama:
    • Nashville: So it's about country music and singing. So what? Watch it and you'll see why it's so ridiculously addicting.
  • Comedy:
    • Mindy Project/Ben and Kate: Both of these new Fox comedies are wonderful in their own right. Mindy Kaling's show was rough at first but is starting to find its footing as a fresh take on romantic comedy in the real world. Ben and Kate is an adorable brother/sister comedy filled with really weird but endearing side characters. I hope both are here to stay.

16. So Bad It Should Have Been Cancelled First Award
  • The Neighbors. Seriously, why are people watching this show??

17. Best Hilarious Song That Should Win An Oscar (aka The Hangover Song Award)
  • "Ladies of Tampa"- Magic Mike. Come on, how funny would it be to see Matthew McConaughey accept an Oscar for a song from a movie about stripping? That would be too good to miss.
There you have it? Who agrees? Who thinks I'm a total idiot? Want to give me your suggestions? I'd love to read them so just go to the comment section! See you next year folks (aka tomorrow)!
